Palma Tica has its origin in the decade of the 1930s, when the transnational company United Fruit Company developed the oil palm division production in the Central Pacific region of Costa Rica.

In the mid-1990s a group of investors acquired United’s oil palm operations, which resulted in a shift in the administration and business vision;  and a consolidation in the production of oil palm was conceived in Quepos, Parrita, Coto and some areas in the province of  Limón.

Currently, Palma Tica has almost 20 mil hectares of sustainable production of more than 10 varieties of palm oil in these areas, generating around two thousand direct jobs. It has  RSPO and Pacto Global international certifications.

The company is located in the Palo Seco/ Parrita Free Trade Zone in the Central Pacific region of Costa Rica and is dedicated to the extraction and refining of palm oil provided by its business partner Palma Tica, as well as of independent palm certified products.

In addition, said plant processes 46 metric tons per hour of palm oil fresh fruit bunch. It also prepares coquito palm flour and calcium soaps for livestock. International certifications: RSPO, Kosher and FSSC 22000.

During the decades of the 1960s and the 1970s, this company, dedicated to the extraction of palm oil and the production of coquito palm flour− built its plant in the Southern Pacific region of Costa Rica, and acquired another plant in the Central Pacific region a decade ago. They currently maintain operations in both sites.

An extraction of 110 tons pf oil per hour is conducted on a daily basis, which is exported from the port of Golfito in Costa Rica to different countries in the world. The company’s certifications are: RSPO, FSSC22000, Pacto Global y Kosher.

A leading company in the production and commercialization of vegetable oils, soy lecithin and food supplies for animal nutrition, it started operations in the mid-1980s in Barranca, Puntarenas.

Its products are intended for domestic and industrial use in Costa Rica. At the present time it generates over 600 direct jobs. INOLASA has been recognized by the American Soy Association as one of the most efficient and modern soybean plants in all Latin America and was thus awarded these certifications: HACCP, Essential Costa Rica, Kosher and Carbon Neutral from INTECO.

An industrial consortium consisting of Agrosa, Harinisa and Indegrasa companies, dedicated to the production and commercialization of products for mass consumption for the Nicaraguan and Central American markets. It has been awarded the FSSC 22000 certification.

Agrosa: its plant is located in the city of León, Nicaragua, where palm oil of the highest quality is processed.
Harinisa: it processes wheat to prepare flour and export bran.
Indegrasa: dedicated to the manufacturing of different types of laundry soaps for different market segments, including for export.

Around the 1980s, the corporation ASD DE COSTA RCA S.A. started operations as a company specializing and dedicated to the development of high productivity oil palm seed varieties and  clones. Afterwards, Compact Seeds & Clones took on the business and now offers seeds varieties with special characteristics for different environments and planting densities for the international market.
